Camburg Ford Ranger 2wd 89-97 I-beam Race Spindle & 2.0 Front Hub Upgrade Kit

If you're looking to significantly upgrade the front suspension on your 1989-1997 Ford Ranger 2wd for off-road racing or extreme use, this I-beam race spindle and hub upgrade kit from Camburg is designed to address the weak points of the factory setup. It replaces the factory ball joints and cast components, which can be failure points under heavy stress, with a much more robust fabricated system. This kit has a proven track record, having been used to win multiple races and championships on various trucks over the last 15 years.

The spindles themselves are fabricated from 4130 chromoly steel, a strong and lightweight material often used in performance applications. Instead of the stock ball joints, this kit utilizes FK 1-inch uniballs for both the upper and lower connections, offering greater strength and articulation. Camburg also builds in 1.5 inches of lift into the spindle design, which helps increase ground clearance around the wheel hub and below the I-beams. For easier installation, CNC-machined, heat-treated stainless steel spacers are included for the uniball spacers and upper alignment cams. For those building a dedicated race truck, Camburg recommends double-shearing the spindle mounts, which will require additional fabrication and machining work. The outer tie rod end is also converted to use a FK 7/8 x 7/8-inch heim joint, meaning you'll need to modify your existing steering linkage.

This kit is built around Camburg's 2.0 race hubs, which feature a larger 5 on 5.5-inch bolt pattern, different from the stock Ranger pattern. It comes complete with Wilwood 4-piston calipers and 12-inch rotors. To use this setup, you will need wheels that have been machined with a 4.25-inch center bore to accommodate 5/8-inch wheel studs. Due to the extensive modifications and specialized nature of these race parts, Camburg highly recommends installation by a qualified off-road fabrication shop. They also offer custom builds for different brake and hub combinations if needed.
