This shield is made from a 10-mil layer of aluminum bonded to a 1/4-inch basalt mat, which is a tough, high-temperature material. It can handle direct heat up to 1400°F and is really flexible, so you can shape it to fit around exhaust headers, turbo housings, or downpipes. It's also resistant to oil and chemical spills, making it a durable choice for keeping heat contained. You can attach it using straps, clamps, or DEI's locking ties, and it's designed to be applied directly to hot surfaces to lower underhood temperatures while keeping heat in the exhaust system where it belongs.

Since this version doesn't have adhesive backing, it's ideal for direct contact with very hot exhaust components. If you need to use it on less hot areas, like a firewall or transmission tunnel, DEI suggests using their Adhesive Spray to help it stick and reflect heat.
