They're designed as a direct bolt-on performance upgrade, meaning you can swap them out without major fabrication. These heads are built to improve how your engine breathes, especially at higher RPMs, which translates to more power when you need it.

Edelbrock has engineered these heads with features that make a real difference. They come complete with larger-than-stock valve springs, ready to handle more aggressive camshafts. The intake flange is dual-drilled, so it works with both early and late model intake manifold bolt patterns, covering a wide range of AMC engines from 1967 to 1991. You'll also find that the dual-quench combustion chambers help achieve a healthy 9.5:1 compression ratio on a 401 V8, giving you a noticeable bump in performance. Plus, the 45-degree intake seat angle is an improvement over the stock 30-degree angle, allowing for better airflow in the mid- to high-lift range.

These heads are set up for small-block Ford style 1.6:1 ratio adjustable rockers, and they include step-dowel pins for pre-1970 engines, with direct bolt-on compatibility for 1970 and later engines using 1/2" head bolts. They also feature stock location ports, so your standard manifolds and headers should bolt right up. Keep in mind these are not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
