MagnaFlow's direct-fit catalytic converter part 4651686 is purpose-built for the 2005-2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.7L engine. It meets CARB requirements and is legal for sale in all 50 states, including California and other CARB-regulated states -- an important detail when replacing a catalytic converter on any vehicle registered in emissions-testing states.
The converter uses 16 ga. 409 stainless steel tubing with mandrel bends that replicate the OEM routing and geometry. MagnaFlow's spun body design with a single laser fusion weld is built to minimize leak potential, and the compact shape allows for solid thermal efficiency. The construction includes 308 stainless steel MIG welds, a stamped collector, and OE-sized barbed exhaust hangers made from 410 stainless steel to help reduce noise and vibration.
A clamp is included in the box along with gaskets, so you are not reusing corroded factory hardware. MagnaFlow states this converter interchanges with OE parts 5209 0044AF and 5209 0044AC among others. Installation requires no cutting or welding -- it is a direct bolt-in using proper hand tools. Installation is permitted only when the vehicle's Executive Order number and Engine Family Number appear in this converter's CARB Executive Order.
