The Mishimoto intercooler itself features a bar-and-plate core with 29% more volume and a unique single-pass coolant flow design for efficient heat transfer. This setup resulted in a 12°F drop in intake air temperatures during testing. Complementing the intercooler is a significantly upgraded heat exchanger. Mishimoto's all-aluminum design is 6 inches taller, increasing its external fin surface area by 180% and core volume by 60%. This larger unit helped reduce overall intercooler coolant temperatures by 10°F. The kit also replaces the factory plastic charge pipes, which are known to crack under pressure, with full aluminum pipes featuring a cast mid-section designed to fit around the intake. These pipes connect to the intercooler using matte black silicone couplers for a secure seal.

When installed as a complete package on a Stage 1 tuned M3, the Mishimoto Performance Intercooler Power Pack delivered an average gain of 11 horsepower and 8 lb-ft of torque.
