Mishimoto 2015+ VW MK7 Golf TSI / GTI / R Performance Intercooler Kit w/ Pipes (Black)

This Mishimoto Performance Intercooler Kit with Pipes is designed for the 2015 and later Volkswagen MK7 Golf TSI, GTI, and R models, as well as select Audi A3, S3, and TT variants. What you get in this kit is a substantial upgrade over the factory intercooler system. It includes a larger, all-aluminum bar-and-plate intercooler core and a set of mandrel-bent aluminum intercooler pipes, complete with 5-layer silicone couplers and necessary hardware for installation. The stock intercooler, sandwiched between the radiator and AC condenser, struggles to keep intake air temperatures down, especially when boost is increased. This Mishimoto kit addresses that limitation with a core that boasts an 89-percent increase in volume and a 162-percent bump in external fin surface area compared to the original unit.

The construction of this intercooler is a significant step up. Instead of the stock tube-and-fin design with plastic end tanks, this Mishimoto unit features a robust bar-and-plate core and cast aluminum end tanks. These end tanks are designed with airflow diverters to ensure that the entire core is utilized for maximum cooling efficiency. Complementing the intercooler core is the included pipe kit. Mishimoto replaces the stock plastic piping and rubber couplers with smooth, mandrel-bent aluminum pipes. These pipes increase the air channel diameter to 2.75 inches, which Mishimoto states results in a 30-percent increase in airflow to and from the intercooler. When installed together, this system has shown gains of up to 14.5 horsepower and 13 lb-ft of torque on stock tuning, while also dropping intercooler outlet temperatures by 23 degrees Fahrenheit.
