Sport bikes with multi-cylinder engines run their engine, transmission, and wet clutch off a single oil supply — which means the oil has to do three very different jobs at once. Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 is a full synthetic motorcycle oil built specifically for that shared-sump design.

What separates motorcycle-specific oil from car oil is the friction modifier content. Car oils typically include friction modifiers to improve fuel economy, but those same additives cause clutch slippage in wet-clutch motorcycles. Mobil 1 Racing 4T leaves those out entirely while adding higher levels of zinc and phosphorus for wear protection at the elevated RPMs and temperatures that motorcycle engines produce.

This is a one-quart bottle of 10W-40 weight, which is the most commonly specified viscosity for Japanese and European sport bikes. It flows well at startup temperatures while maintaining film strength when the engine is working hard.
