Mobil 1 Synthetic 15W50 Motor Oil

Mobil 1 15W-50 is a heavier-weight synthetic formulated for engines that run hard, run hot, or both. The 15W-50 viscosity provides a thicker oil film at operating temperature compared to lighter grades, which makes it a common choice for high-performance naturally aspirated engines, turbocharged setups, and older engines with wider bearing clearances.

Mobil 1 rates this oil for internal engine heat protection up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and cold-temperature flow down to minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit. It meets ILSAC GF-6 standards, which include protection against low-speed pre-ignition and timing chain wear. The synthetic base stocks and additive package are designed for up to 10,000 miles between oil changes under normal driving conditions.

This viscosity grade sees a lot of use in motorsport applications, towing, and vehicles driven in extreme heat. It is also a go-to for air-cooled Porsche engines and other performance platforms that call for 15W-50 from the factory. Not recommended for 2-cycle or aviation engines.
