The NGK Laser Iridium spark plug features a fine wire center electrode made from an iridium alloy, which has an extremely high melting point. This design helps ensure a consistently stable spark, which is important for today's high-tech engines. The pure alumina silicate ceramic insulator offers superior strength and better heat transfer, helping to prevent the plug from overheating. For added protection and easier installation, these plugs come with trivalent metal plating for superior anti-corrosion and anti-seizing properties.

NGK designed these Laser Iridium plugs with a raised platinum pad or fine wire tip on the ground electrode. This helps promote even wear, especially in distributorless ignition systems, and contributes to improved spark performance over time. The 98 percent pure copper core within the insulator aids in heat removal, further supporting reliable operation and preventing overheating.
