S&S Cycle 84-91 BT w/ Stock Bore Super Stock Alternator Style Crankcase - Wrinkle Black

This S&S Cycle Super Stock Alternator Style Crankcase is a well-built component designed for both stock replacement and high-performance builds on 1984-'91 Big Twin models. You get the crankcase itself, finished in a durable wrinkle black, ready to accept your existing flywheel assemblies, primary covers, and gearcovers. It's specifically machined to accommodate a crank position sensor, opening the door for EFI applications and making it easy to integrate with S&S IST Ignition and VFI Fuel Injection systems. This crankcase is also clearanced for 38 amp alternator stators, ensuring compatibility with common electrical setups.

Beyond stock fitment, S&S has incorporated several features for improved performance. A ported breather passageway and a machined breather window allow for efficient flow of air/oil mist from the flywheel cavity to the cam chest, minimizing restriction. The cam chest oil pick-up has been relocated to enhance gear case scavenging, which helps prevent oil carry-over during sustained high speeds. This crankcase is also machined to accept the stock oil filter assembly found on 1992-'99 Big Twins and is clearanced for crankshafts with strokes up to 5 inches, offering significant flexibility for engine builds.

Venting is handled through two crankcase breathers, cylinder heads, or both, with a recommendation to use both breathers for engines larger than 95 cubic inches.
