For lighter surface scratches, the restoration pads and clarifying compound work together to buff out marks and restore the finish. For deeper scratches that go past the clear coat, the kit is meant to be used alongside touch-up paint, with the clarifying compound and clear coat pen helping blend the repair into the surrounding finish. The spray lubricant keeps the pads moving smoothly across the surface to avoid creating new marks while you work.
