UMI Performance 82-92 GM F-Body Tubular K-member Factory Springs Road Race

UMI Performance is known for making well-built suspension and chassis components for performance vehicles. This tubular K-member is a direct bolt-in replacement designed for road racing and autocross applications on your 1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro or Pontiac Firebird. It's built to give your existing horsepower a better foundation to work with, while also shedding some weight from the front end.

This K-member features a strong dual-tube lower section, with additional tubing and gusseting in critical areas for added strength. It's fabricated from CNC machined 3/16” thick mild steel and uses 1-1/2” DOM tubing. The mounting pads are precision machined to accept factory clamshell and engine mounts, and it works with both factory and aftermarket suspension components. You'll find lightening holes in the mounting plates, and the tubular design offers extra clearance for aftermarket exhaust systems. A neat feature is its modular design; you can use it with stock springs and struts, or remove the spring pockets to switch to coil-overs. UMI's testing shows this K-member to be strong and reliable, making it a solid upgrade for your high-performance ride.

This K-member is 20 lbs lighter than the stock unit and comes in a durable red or black powdercoat finish. It's MIG and TIG welded for a clean look and strong joints. It includes six new Grade 10.9 flanged mounting bolts for installation. If you plan to use an LSX engine, you'll need to purchase motor mount adapters (part # 2409). Keep in mind that when using an LSX engine with a UMI tubular K-member, factory LS A/C will need to be relocated; UMI recommends a relocation kit fromkwikperf.com.
