UMI Performance is known for building strong, reliable suspension and chassis components for performance vehicles. For your 1993-2002 Camaro or Firebird, especially if you're pushing it hard on the road course, their Road Race K-Member is a serious upgrade. This isn't just about looks; it's about building a chassis that can handle the intense forces of racing, preventing costly failures and keeping you on track.

This K-member is constructed from robust DOM seamless steel tubing, with a 1.500” x 0.120” main center tube and 1.250” x 0.120” cross braces. Both TIG and MIG welding are used throughout for exceptional strength. The A-arm mounts are CNC machined from thick steel and gusseted to handle extreme side loads. UMI even adds extra tubing in critical areas and a dual-tube center section, making it even stronger than their standard K-member. It's designed to be a direct bolt-in, using factory locator pins for precise fitment, and includes mounts for a power steering rack. You'll also gain about half an inch of additional A-arm slot length for more adjustment and a lowered rear cross tube for better oil pan clearance.

While this K-member is designed to allow the installation of a traditional small block or big block Chevrolet engine, keep in mind that some modifications to the firewall or other areas might be needed for proper engine clearance. Despite the added strength, it still offers a weight savings of around 25 lbs compared to the factory setup, which is crucial for road racing performance. It comes with integrated polyurethane motor mounts and fabricated mounting clam shells for further weight reduction and easier installation.
