If you're swapping a TH400 automatic transmission into your 1993-1997 Chevrolet Camaro or Pontiac Firebird, this torque arm relocation kit from UMI Performance makes the job much simpler. It integrates the necessary provisions for mounting the TH400 transmission while still accommodating a factory-style torque arm. This means you don't need to buy separate torque arm brackets; the built-in mount works with most stock-style aftermarket torque arms and the factory unit.

The kit is constructed from strong DOM mild steel tubing with 0.188-inch thick mounting plates and a 0.250-inch thick machined torque arm mount. It features a new clam shell for securely attaching the torque arm. A notable benefit is the instant center adjustment, which lets you fine-tune the torque arm's position by moving it up or down. This crossmember is designed to tuck tightly against the chassis, so it won't reduce your vehicle's ground clearance, and in many cases, it's lighter than the stock crossmember while being structurally stronger. The entire kit is a 100% bolt-in installation, using existing holes with no drilling, cutting, or welding required.

Keep in mind that this kit requires a solid one-piece polyurethane bushing, as it won't work with the factory two-piece bushing design. If you're using the stock torque arm, you'll need to purchase an aftermarket polyurethane bushing separately.
