UMI Performance 98-02 GM F-Body Automatic / Torque Arm Relocation Kit

When you're pushing your 1998-2002 GM F-Body hard, especially with automatic transmissions, the factory torque arm mount on the tail shaft can take a beating. This UMI Performance relocation kit gives you a stronger setup by replacing the stock transmission crossmember with a new one that has a built-in torque arm mount. This moves the stress off the transmission's tail shaft, protecting it from damage during aggressive driving and hard launches.

This kit is constructed from strong rectangular mild steel tubing with 0.188-inch thick mounting plates and a 0.250-inch thick steel mount for the torque arm itself. It includes a new clam shell for securely attaching your torque arm, whether it's the factory unit or most aftermarket versions designed to bolt into the stock location. UMI designed this crossmember to tuck up tight against the chassis, so you won't lose any ground clearance. In many cases, this well-built unit actually weighs less than the stock crossmember while offering significantly improved structural integrity.
