When you're pushing your 1998-2002 GM F-Body, especially with a heavy-duty 4L80E transmission, the stock torque arm mount can be a weak point. This torque arm relocation kit from UMI Performance replaces your factory transmission crossmember with a stronger unit that includes a built-in mount for the torque arm. This moves the stress off the transmission's tailshaft, which is crucial for preventing damage during hard launches and spirited driving.

This kit is constructed from USA steel tubing with 3/16” thick mounting plates and a 1/4” thick laser-cut steel torque arm mount. It's designed as a 100% bolt-in replacement for your stock crossmember, using existing holes and requiring no drilling, cutting, or welding. The new crossmember is designed to tuck up tight, so it won't reduce your vehicle's ground clearance and may even save a little weight compared to the stock part. It works with most stock-style aftermarket torque arms and the factory torque arm, though a specific bushing (#3004) is required if you're using the stock torque arm.
