Starting with the roller Torrington bearings that replace stock thrust washers, this BD Diesel transmission kit is built to handle more than your original equipment could. These bearings reduce friction and help save your governor solenoids, a common failure point on stock units. The intermediate shaft is drilled for improved lubrication, and the manual valve is modified to ensure lube in all gear positions, which is crucial for longevity, especially when you're putting more power down.

This transmission is a significant upgrade from the factory 47RE, incorporating more robust components from the 48RE. You'll find a higher clutch count, including 10 in the OD DIRECT clutch pack and 6 in the OD clutch pack, along with 5 in the forward and 6 in the direct clutch packs. These clutches are made with up to 25% more material than stock and are paired with a high-temp/energy Raybestos band, a billet band strut, anchor, and a billet dual ring accumulator piston. The valve body has been redesigned and updated with revised oil circuits, and the governor pressure transducer and solenoid are also upgraded, with the solenoid offering twice the burst pressure of stock. This setup allows for increased line pressure, starting at lower RPMs and lighter throttle positions, providing up to 80% higher clutch apply pressures and handling up to 300% more power and torque than the stock unit, all while maintaining light throttle shift firmness and eliminating shuttle shifting.

BD Diesel includes their rigid aluminum heavy-duty transmission pan, which not only adds an extra quart of oil capacity but also reduces case flex and internal oil leakage thanks to its heat-dissipating fins.
