COMP Cams is a well-known name in performance valvetrain parts, and these steel retainers are a solid choice when you're upgrading your valve springs. When you install valve springs with higher pressures, you need retainers that can handle that extra force. These retainers are designed to do just that, working with valve springs that have a 1.250-inch diameter.

Engineers used advanced computer modeling to shape the top of these retainers, which helps reduce stress and mass while allowing for increased lift. They are CNC-machined to very precise measurements using high-grade SAE 4140 chromemoly steel. This material is strong and durable, and the black oxide finish adds a layer of corrosion resistance.
