Engines with more than 75,000 miles on the odometer have different needs than a fresh powertrain. The standout feature is the seal conditioner package built into the formula. These additives work on the rubber seals and gaskets throughout the engine, reconditioning them to help restore their original size and flexibility. That addresses one of the most common high-mileage complaints: oil seeping from valve cover gaskets, rear main seals, and other aging seals that have hardened over time. Mobil 1 rates this oil for up to 10,000 miles between changes and provides heat protection up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit with cold-weather flow down to minus 30 degrees Fahrenheit. The synthetic base stock resists breakdown better than conventional oils, helping keep deposits and sludge under control in an engine that may have accumulated some buildup over the years. It meets ILSAC GF-6 standards, including protection against low-speed pre-ignition and timing chain wear.
