Philips 9005 Halogen Headlight Bulb

Philips makes OEM headlight bulbs for automakers worldwide, and the 9005 standard halogen is the same quality they supply to the factory. It is a 65-watt, 12-volt bulb with a P20d base that fits any vehicle calling for a 9005 or HB3 high beam bulb.

At 3000 Kelvin, it produces the familiar warm white halogen light that works well in all weather conditions without the blue tint of some aftermarket options. The 9005 is DOT compliant and street legal, so there are no concerns about running afoul of inspection requirements. The C-8 filament and durable glass construction give it a rated life of around 150 hours under standard use.

Replacing a headlight bulb is one of the simpler maintenance jobs on most vehicles. The 9005 base twists into the headlamp socket and locks in place. If one bulb has burned out, it is worth replacing both sides at the same time since they dim at roughly the same rate and a brighter bulb on one side can affect your night visibility balance.
